How to get ‘double movement’ in Fortnite Season 6

Double-movement is back in Fortnite for KBM players, thanks to some third-party software that is, reportedly, allowed.

Published

on

Epic removed double-movement keybinds, but players are reportedly allowed to use third-party software to create the same effect.

The debate between controller and KBM (keyboard and mouse) in Fortnite will probably never end. First, it was the aim assist argument. After that died down, KBM players grew envious of controller movement.

Since controller players use a joystick, it’s much easier for them to strafe in one direction while looking in another. On keyboard, your movement is locked to front, back, left, or right. This limitation prevents KBM players from full-sprinting while looking and building to the side.

KBM players got around this by using “double movement” keybinds. They would bind one of their movement inputs to two keys, allowing them to achieve “controller movement.”

Fortnite Mobile Controller Support

After a while, Epic banned this practice in-game by only allowing Fortnite players to map their movement inputs to a single key.

There have always been third-party apps that allow players to bind keys to a controller emulator, but a lot of Fortnite players assumed that this wasn’t allowed. Recently, however, BenjyFishy told his stream that using programs like ReWASD and Keys2xInput isn’t bannable.

Benjy made it clear that he checked with someone at Epic about this before adding it to his gameplay. Since we can assume that Benjy got the green light, it opens the door to all players who want double movement.

As we stated, the two popular programs that achieve double movement are ReWASD and Keys2xInput. The former offers a free trial but costs money each month. The latter is free, and will likely be the first choice for anyone who wants to try double-movement for the first time.

YouTuber itsJerian made a video tutorial on how to set up these two programs, going into detail about exactly how they work. We suggest taking a look at his video if you plan on setting these programs up for yourself.

Double movement is a tough thing to police in Fortnite. Using third-party software for an in-game advantage seems messy, but controller players already have this ability. All these programs do is emulate a controller joystick on your keyboard.

Hopefully, this clears up any confusion that you might have on double-movement keybinds on KBM. Epic haven’t made any official statements on the matter, but we can assume that people like BenjyFishy and itsJerian, who have contacts at Epic, know enough to steer us in the right direction.

The Fortnite island in Chapter 3 has several Geysers that loopers can use for quick rotations and 15,000 XP, thanks to a weekly challenge.

Fortnite players have to launch into the air with the help of Geysers in Chapter 3 Season 3 in order to complete a weekly challenge that grants 15,000 XP.

Geysers have been an integral part of the Fortnite meta as they help players in launching into the air. One can use this boost to get away from enemies, escape the storm, or simply rotate to a new location.

A weekly challenge in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3 Week 2 requires players to use three Geysers, and here’s a quick guide to completing it.

Geyser locations in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3

It is worth noting that Geysers in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3 are primarily located in the newly released biome that is full of giant mushrooms. POIs like Greasy Grove and Reality Falls are a part of this region.

Instead of roaming around in search of Geysers, you can simply head to the Peril Pass landmark marked in the image below. It has seven Geysers situated right next to each other.

Two more Geysers are present near the massive Reality Tree in Reality Falls:

You only need to launch yourself into the air with Geysers three times and nine locations have been specified in the images above.

How to use a Geyser in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3

Using a Geyser in Fortnite is as easy as it gets. You have to stand on it for a few seconds and the water pressure will automatically launch the character into the air. This is similar to Klombo’s blowholes that were present around the island in Chapter 3 Season 2.

All in all, Fortnite players can get 15,000 XP by completing this simple challenge. By completing all the weekly challenges, they’ll be able to progress three levels in the Battle Pass. It ain’t much but it’s honest work!

Ballers and Runaway Boulders in Fortnite

Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3 Week 2 challenges are here. One of the challenges requires players to boost into a Runaway Boulder with a Baller, and here’s how to do it.

The Fortnite community has been complaining about the gruesome XP grind in Chapter 3 Season 3 for several days now. Amidst several nerfs and buffs to the Accolade XP system by Epic Games, Weekly and Daily quests are the only reliable source of XP for players.

Here’s a guide to completing a Weekly quest that grants 15,000 XP.

The Baller and Runaway Boulder locations in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3

Runaway Boulders arrived in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3 as a reference to Indiana Jones’ iconic scene in Raiders of the Lost Ark. You can find them on a ton of cliffs around the island and destroy their rock base to roll them down.

However, considering that the challenge requires players to boost into a Runaway Boulder with a Baller, it is better if they find one near Rave Cave only.

The spawn locations of the seven Ballers in Rave Cave have been marked in the images below:

Players will find three Ballers inside Cuddle Team Leader’s giant head at Rave Cave. Two Ballers can be found in the cave under the Cuddle Team Leader’s head and two more on the eastern platform.

After finding a Baller, players can use it to reach the Runaway Boulder marked in the image:

Ballers in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3 can grant infinite boost with a glitch

The final step is to climb the cliff marked in the image above and hit the Runaway Boulder with a Baller while holding the boost button. Ideally, this should make the rock roll down the cliff, and players will be able to get 15,000 XP instantly.

Interestingly, loopers can get an infinite boost for their Baller with a simple glitch. Right when the vehicle’s energy finishes and the game displays the ‘energy depleted‘ bar, you have to hold the boost button. Thereafter, the Baller will keep on moving even with an empty energy bar.

Apparently, Runaway Boulders do not have definite spawn locations. Hence, if players do not find one near Rave Cave, they can use the infinite boost glitch and travel around the island to complete the XP challenge.

Grapple Gloves can be found here in Fortnite

Fortnite has finally released the Grapple Gloves in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3 and here’s every location where players can find them.

The Fortnite community loved playing with Spider-Man’s Mythic web-shooters in Chapter 3 Season 1. Mobility has always been a glaring issue in Epic Games’ Battle Royale title, and items like the web-shooters significantly improved the situation.

The web-shooters have now returned as the Grapple Gloves, and there are ten locations where you can find them.

It is worth noting that ten small huts scattered around the island have now turned into Grapple Glove pitstops. They have large signs and contain special loot boxes with Grapple Gloves.

Here’s what a pitstop looks like in-game:

Loopers must know that the Grapple Glove won’t be available as standard loot in chests. They will have to visit any of the following locations to get them:

  1. North of Logjam Lumberyard near Seven Outpost 2.
  2. Under Cuddle Team Leader’s head in Rave Cave near the pool.
  3. Southwest of Greasy Grove near Fungi Farm.
  4. North of Synapse Station near Desolate Delta landmark.
  5. North of Rocky Reels.
  6. East of Tilted Towers near The Devourer landmark.
  7. South of Sleepy Sound, next to the small red cabin.
  8. Northeast of Condo Canyon near Shrouded Settlement (South of The Joneses).
  9. Eastern edge of the map between Seven Outpost and Sunburned Shacks landmarks.
  10. Northeast of Daily Bugle.

Here’s an image in which each of the aforementioned locations has been marked:

Players won’t struggle a lot to find the Grapple Glove pitstops because they have large signs and a vibrant color scheme that stands out. Having said that, it is safe to assume that the competition to get these gloves will be fierce.

Grapple Gloves arrive early in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3 Arena

According to leakers, you can now find Grapple Gloves in Arena and they’ll arrive in other game modes shortly. In core modes like Battle Royale and Zero Build, they will have 30 shots while in Arena, a player can only swing 10 times with a single glove.

Spider-Man’s mythic web-shooters were clearly broken in terms of providing mobility to players. They helped in quickly getting away from opponents, rotations, and surprising opponents.

From the looks of it, the new Grapple Gloves will serve a similar purpose in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3 and loopers can use this guide to get them in every game.
