At a time when the SMG meta was going strong, this major move changed the opinions of the player base about the need for replacement.

The weapons meta in Fortnite Chapter 3 has evolved over time as players continue to discover new ways to use the overpowered weapons arsenal in their matches. With the disliking of Shotguns in this chapter, players have shifted their focus on choosing ARs and SMGs as preferred weapons in their loadout.

Back in Chapter 3 Season 1, players saw the potential in SMGs being overpowered in the game and developed a Pray and Spray meta to use them to lead themselves to a Victory Royale. The combination of an MK-Seven Assault Rifle and a Stinger SMG was mostly favored by the players as they went to combat against their opponents.

But with the launch of Chapter 3 Season 3, the Hammer Assault Rifle and Combat SMG were used in a similar fashion, although not as overpowering as its predecessor. However, in a recent update, Epic chose to replace the favored Combat SMG with a new Charge SMG that promises heavy damage and a stronger fire rate.

Charge SMG replaces Combat SMG in Fortnite v21.20

In a rather unexpected update, Fortnite chose to replace one of its most popular SMGs with a more powerful Charge SMG across all playlists. The weapon requires the player to hold down the fire button to charge the weapon similar to a Charge Shotgun and release a barrage of bullets upon their opponents.

The shorter the time the fire button is held, the smaller the duration of the fire barrage will be and vice versa. The weapon also has a cooldown rate similar to the Charge Shotgun which applies after a heavy fire barrage if the fire button is held down longer.

In addition to the update, Fortnite also tweeted that the Combat SMG has been removed from all playlists and has been vaulted indefinitely. However, the Charge SMG will not be available in the Competitive playlists until quite some time.

Looking at the above gameplay for the Charge SMG, pros and several players are already dissing the new weapon for its slower reload time and heavy recoil. The weapon takes too much time to charge the barrage and once released, cannot target an enemy faster than the Stinger SMG.

Pros like SypherPK, NickEh30, and TypicalGamer have all expressed their dislike of the weapon and would rather play with the Combat SMG than the new SMG added to the game. Apart from this major change, several map changes, unvaulting of Port-A-Fort, the addition of new movement mechanics in Save The World, and more were seen in the latest v21.20 update that the community sang praises of.

Where to find the Fortnite Propifier & how to use it https://www.fortniteintel.com/fortnite-propifier-location/39448/ Wed, 11 Aug 2021 20:26:36 +0000 http://www.fortniteintel.com/?p=39448 Another new piece of alien tech has landed on The Island. Here’s where to find the Fortnite Propifier and what it’s used for.

The IO and Aliens have introduced a lot of new tech during Fortnite Season 7. At the start of the season, The IO added Pulse Rifles, Railguns, and Recon Scanners to the loot pool. Aliens brought UFOs and Ray Guns along for the invasion. And the destructive power of these weapons has only increased over the season.

Now, players can hide in plain sight using the all-new Fortnite Propifier. It’s not as flashy as the Grab-itron, and it doesn’t melt through builds like the Plasma Launcher. However, players can escape their foes with ease, or get the jump on them, with the help of this brand new gadget.

fortnite propifier menu

Finding and Using the Fortnite Propifier

The Propifier can be found just like any other tech weapon this season. It won’t spawn as floor loot, but it can be dropped from chests, on abductors, or in the mothership. Since it is an Alien weapon, it will have a higher chance of being found on Abductors and Motherships.

As for how you use the Fortnite Propifier, that’s up to the player. When activated, players will be presented with a holographic selection menu with various options to choose from. Once a player scrolls to an item they like, they need to confirm their selection to be transformed.

Once transformed, players can stand still for their prop to settle into place. Every few seconds the item will glitch slightly which keeps propified players from being completely hidden. However, this can be used to hide from enemies or get the jump on unsuspecting opponents.

The Fortnite Propifier has to rank among one of the silliest yet useful weapons in the game. Other items such as the Inflate-a-Bull and Grab-itron have made season 7 one of the wackiest and most enjoyable seasons yet. Let us know down below what you think about the Propifier and the rest of Season 7.

How to get the Armored Batman skin in Fortnite https://www.fortniteintel.com/fortnite-armored-batman-skin/39209/ Wed, 07 Jul 2021 15:58:11 +0000 http://www.fortniteintel.com/?p=39209 The Armored Batman skin has finally arrived in Fortnite, and here is how players can get this new DC crossover skin.

Batman was one of the first crossover characters to enter the Fortnite multiverse. He and Catwoman were introduced as real-money transactions during Fortnite Season X. Not only could players purchase their skins, but a small version of Gotham City also appeared on the map for a short period of time.

It wouldn’t be until Chapter 2 Season 6 that Batman would return to The Island in another official crossover. This time, a series of comics made in partnership between Fortnite and DC would see the world’s greatest detective attempting to solve the mystery of the Zero Point. Batman would receive two new costumes during his stay. The new Zero Point Batman was released in Season 6. As well as the Armored Batman skin which was just released.

The Armored Batman skin was just released in Fortnite following the conclusion of the Fortnite x Batman: Zero Point comic series. Players have a few options if they want to obtain the new skin. They can either spend V-Bucks to purchase him in the Item Shop or buy all of the comics.

The new Armored Batman set hit the Item Shop for the first time on July 7. The skin costs 1,500 V-Bucks alongside a 1,200 V-Buck glider and a 500 V-Buck pickaxe. This means players will have to purchase 3,200 V-Bucks to buy the entire Armored Batman set.

Additionally, players who purchased all six copies of the Fortnite x Batman comic, and redeemed all six item codes, will be given the Armored Batman skin as a bonus reward. One of the item codes also gives players the Batarang Axe pickaxe, meaning players would only be missing the glider.

A hardcover edition that includes every issue of the Batman/Fortnite: Zero Point series is for sale on Amazon. The downside is that it won’t release until September 7. While that may be two months after the final issue of the series releases, the hardcover comes with a single code that will unlock all seven DC-themed cosmetics.

As well, players will a DC Universe Infinite paid subscription can unlock all seven items without any physical purchases. The item codes are not available during the free trial period. However, this is the quickest and cheapest way to unlock bonus cosmetic items.

Leaked Fortnite Inflate-A-Bull item turns players into impervious cows https://www.fortniteintel.com/fortnite-inflate-a-bull-item-leak/39096/ Fri, 25 Jun 2021 17:21:22 +0000 http://www.fortniteintel.com/?p=39096 A new consumable item coming to Fortnite Season 7 has leaked, and it turns players into blow-up cows. Here’s a first look at the leaked Fortnite inflate-a-bull item.

Fortnite Season 7 has introduced a lot of crazy items and weapons, and there’s a lot more on the way. There are UFOs that can pick up cars, boulders, and even players with their tractor beams. Alien Parasites attach themselves to players’ heads and increase their mobility. A weapon called the “Cowinator” will be able to throw trucks through the air like a baseball.

Season 7 has been absurd, but there is a new item coming that will push Fortnite’s absurdity to its limit. The leaked Fortnite Inflate-a-bull is a new consumable item added to the games files during the v17.10 patch. As wild as this item seems, it could be a very important addition to the game.

Leaked Fortnite Inflate-a-Bull item

The Inflate-a-bull is similar to the jetpack as players will wear it on their backs when it’s in their inventory. It will take up a slot on the hotbar, and it activated the same way as a Crash Pad. According to iFireMonkey on Twitter, this consumable item will deploy if players press the jump button while in mid-air.

When deployed, players will be surrounded by a giant inflatable cow. While players are inside the Inflate-a-bull, they can roll down hills, bounce off cliffs, and be impervious to fire. As well, players will have lower gravity and can moo just like a normal cow. The suit can only be used for a limited amount of time or until another player shoots and pops it.

The Fortnite Inflate-a-bull item isn’t currently in the game, but it will likely be added on Tuesday, June 29. Tuesdays are new content days, and there are plenty of items in Fortnite’s files that aren’t in-game yet. Hopefully, the Inflate-a-bull and much more will be added to the game soon.

This beloved Fortnite item could be returning soon https://www.fortniteintel.com/this-beloved-fortnite-item-could-be-returning-soon/32114/ Wed, 20 May 2020 17:18:02 +0000 http://www.fortniteintel.com/?p=32114 Fortnite Chapter 2 has been relatively slow in regards to releasing items. This has been, clearly, by design. Epic wanted to bring us back to the barebones Fortnite experience with the release of Chapter 2, and they did just that.

They started picking things up in Season 2 with the release of a few new weapons and items and the return of a few more. Still, it’s far from the weekly updates we were getting back in the days of mid-to-late Chapter 1.

We expect things to pick up even more during Season 3. Epic have a trove of items and weapons that they can bring back to the game, along with some new ideas they undoubtedly have in the tank.

One fan-favorite item that could be coming back is the Shadow Bomb. Competitive Fortnite players, in particular, loved this item as it offers a nearly free rotation in the midst of the late-game chaos. Most fans remember MrSavage’s 200-IQ Shadow Bomb play in the World Cup finals.

Apart from periods of the game when there’s too many rotational items, not many players complained about the Shadow Bombs. They were never one of the core items, but a lot of Fortnite players were sad to see them go.

According to FNBR Leaks, the Shadow Bomb could be returning before Season 2 ends. Epic added it back to the game files in v12.60, which is presumed to be the last major patch of Fortnite Season 2.

The alternative to the return of Shadow Bombs in core modes is its entrance into the Intel in Spy Games. We could see this as an unlockable item in Operation modes, which would put a damper on our excitement.

We could look at Spy Games as a trial run for old items, however. Things like Shield Bubbles, the Heavy Shotgun, and Chug Splashes have all reappeared in Spy Games. Epic could be reviewing user feedback before considering their return to core modes.

We could see the Shadow Bomb return for Fortnite Season 3, as well. It may even have some lore attached to it, following the rumored Doomsday event. Of course, we’ll have to wait and see what happens. For now, Shadow Bomb fans can get excited to see them return to the Fortnite game files.

These must-know Proximity Mine tricks might make them OP https://www.fortniteintel.com/these-must-know-proximity-mine-tricks-might-make-them-op/30211/ Tue, 03 Mar 2020 18:54:46 +0000 http://www.fortniteintel.com/?p=30211 Proximity Mines are now in Fortnite. These tricks might make them too powerful.

Fortnite v12.10 is out now, bringing us a long list of expectations in the form of leaked events, LTMs, helicopters, new weapons, and a lot more.

On its surface, however, the update only did a few things: added Llamas back to Battle Royale and brought the Proximity Mine into the game.

The Proximity Mine only does 50 damage to a player, but they stack up to six. This means that you can place four of them in a particular location to, effectively, one-shot an opponent.

These items are still new, so we’ve yet to see how players will react when they expect Proximity Mines to be on the ground. For now, though, they seem pretty powerful.

The damage might not be anything breathtaking, but Proximity Mines also mark an opponent’s location. Once you tag an enemy with one, you can see where they are and run to finish the kill.

This feature, alone, makes the Proximity Mines worth carrying. When you add this must-know trick to the mines, they become one of the most powerful explosives in Fortnite.

You can’t throw the Proximity Mines very far, but you can get them to fly once they’re on the ground. The Fortnite exploit king, Orange Guy, found a few ways to push Proximity Mines away from you and get them to explode on an enemy.

You can shoot the mines, pickaxe the mines, or do a combination of both to push them several meters away and ensure that they hit your target.

C4 will probably do a better job in these scenarios, but this ability on top of all of the inherent benefits of the mines makes the latter more powerful. You can also send the mines further than C4 will travel.

Again, we’ll have to wait and see how the Proximity Mines shake out once more players have a chance to use them. Early testing shows that they might be a tad too versatile, however.

This Lily Pad item concept is a brilliant addition to Fortnite https://www.fortniteintel.com/this-lily-pad-item-concept-is-a-brilliant-addition-to-fortnite/29585/ Fri, 07 Feb 2020 16:02:23 +0000 http://www.fortniteintel.com/?p=29585 This concept would bring one of the natural Lily Pads into your inventory.

Mobility is one of the areas that need the most attention in Fortnite Season 2. We now have Launch Pads in public matches, but they’re still missing in the competitive playlists.

Launch Pads are a great start, but they’re just that – a start. We’ll likely see something else come to Season 2 that will help us get around the map. Most fans assume that a land vehicle will be the next addition.

It’s true; a new or unvaulted land vehicle would be a perfect fit for the new Fortnite map. What about other mobility items, though? Will Epic continue to unvault old items or will they create something new?

Epic Games

Reddit user u/jrushFN came up with a concept that itemized Lily Pads. The competitive community jokes that Lillypads have been the best source of mobility in Chapter 2, but that’s not totally wrong. They provide a safe, balanced way to get around the swamp.

According to the creator, these Lily Pads will be a common, low-distance mobility item that improves rotation and opens the door for ‘meme plays’ and trickshots.

Via: u/jrushFN

This might be the perfect mobility addition to Fortnite Chapter 2. Lily Pads are unique to this season and present a minimally powerful mobility tool that could be used for all types of strategy.

The only problem that I can see is clogging the loot pool. You don’t want these items to be too common, or else we’ll all complain about having an inventory full of Lily Pads. Apart from that, these would be a phenomenal addition to the game.

‘No new content’ – how Epic spoiled the Fortnite community https://www.fortniteintel.com/no-new-content-how-epic-spoiled-the-fortnite-community/27839/ https://www.fortniteintel.com/no-new-content-how-epic-spoiled-the-fortnite-community/27839/#comments Tue, 19 Nov 2019 19:09:50 +0000 http://www.fortniteintel.com/?p=27839 Epic Games have been spoiling the Fortnite community for a long time, leading to a backlash for the lack of content during Fortnite Chapter 2.

Fortnite has been an ever-evolving game over the two years since it was released. Epic have been adding LTMs, items, and weapons on a weekly basis for nearly two years, so their sudden halt in additions has left a lot of players wondering what’s going on.

The Fortnite team had been working around-the-clock to make sure that Fortnite was always changing. We’d get a new item nearly every week, which would fuel the hype for each update.

Fortnite Chapter 2 ended all of this. Epic have added only one new item since Chapter 2 began and haven’t made any changes to the new map. Nearly a month before the first season is set to end and we haven’t seen a single hint of an in-game event.

The biggest – and most legitimate – complaint from Fortnite players revolves around communication. We’re well over the halfway point in Chapter 2, Season 1 and Epic have yet to release any patch notes for the game. Nor have they told us why they’re holding back the patch notes.

This complaint aside, though, it seems as though the Fortnite player base has become spoiled with the constant updates to Fortnite. Those who played the first season of the game know that we didn’t have LTMs or regular additions back then, either.

Epic are focusing on balancing and polishing their game, something that a large percentage of the player base requested during the era of constant Fortnite additions. ‘Stop adding things and fix your game,’ they would say. Now, many of those same players complain that the game feels stale because of the lack of updates.

No other game has ever provided the steady flow of updates that Fortnite has. We don’t expect Call of Duty to release patch after patch with new weapons, maps, attachments, game modes, etc.

Since we’ve seen this from Fortnite in the past, though, we somehow expect it to continue indefinitely. Epic seems to finally be focusing on polishing the game and aren’t forcing their employees to work 12-hour days to develop new items.

Competitive Fortnite is in a more stable state than it ever has been. Players don’t have to worry about game-breaking items, map changes, or sweeping balance updates each week. They know that they’ll be competing on the same game that they’ve been practicing.

Epic went back to the basics in Fortnite Chapter 2. We have a fantastic game that will undoubtedly change in the future.

Will Epic bring back the patch notes, the constant updates, and the in-game events? Probably, but we shouldn’t expect them to. All we can expect is a new season with new content. Everything that happens after that should be icing on the cake.

What do you think? Are you getting bored of Fortnite? Do you miss the days of LTMs and constant additions or are you happy playing the unchanging game that is Fortnite Chapter 2. Let us know in the comments.

Fortnite ‘Zapper Trap’ coming soon to Battle Royale https://www.fortniteintel.com/fortnite-zapper-trap-coming-soon-battle-royale/24581/ Mon, 02 Sep 2019 17:30:34 +0000 http://www.fortniteintel.com/?p=24581 A new ‘Zapper Trap’ will be coming soon to Fortnite Battle Royale – here’s everything you need to know.

The official confirmation that the Zapper Trap will be coming to Fortnite came on Monday, September 2 via the in-game Battle Royale news screen.

Originally leaked a day prior by ‘FortTory,’ the Zapper Trap will be making a comeback after it was featured all the way back in Fortnite Season One.

Although the Zapper Trap didn’t gain a whole lot of traction in Season One, there also weren’t nearly as many players as there are currently. So, it seems that Epic Games are willing to take a risk on the trap once again.

When is the Zapper Trap coming to Fortnite Battle Royale?

At the time of writing, there is no confirmed date for the Zapper Trap to be added to Fortnite since it was officially announced.

It will most likely come via the next patch or Content Update, which, if Epic Games sticks to their Season 10 schedule, should arrive on Tuesday, September 3.

However, it should be noted that the schedule could potentially change, so we will wait for an official announcement regarding the upcoming update before confirming any dates.

Fortnite in-game News menu: Monday, September 2

How will the Zapper Trap work in Fortnite Battle Royale?

According to the leaks, the Zapper Trap will have an Epic rarity and can be found all around the Fortnite map in Chests, floor loot, and other areas.

The Zapper Trap will be able to be placed on floors, walls, and ceilings; however, there is a chance that you might be able to place them on enemy builds as well.

We aren’t exactly sure how the Zapper Traps will work in regards to doing damage, but we will continue to provide more information as it is made available by Epic Games.

The Zapper Trap will be making its return in Fortnite Season 10
